Pittsford, N.Y. – Hundreds of St. John Fisher students and staff members wrapped up a dance marathon Saturday night.
The 31st annual Teddi Dance for Love began Friday at 8 p.m. and ran for 24 hours. The goal is to raise money for Camp Good Days and Special Times, which helps kids dealing with cancer and other challenges.
The event is named after Camp Good Days founder Gary Mervis’ daughter Teddi, who died of cancer.
This year, it raised $50,931, exceeding the goal of $50,000.
Mervis said in addition to raising money for a good cause, the dance is a touching tribute to his late daughter.
“Not only do these young people help Camp Good Days and our ability to do what we do,” Mervis said, “for me, as Teddi’s dad, the gift they give to me is priceless.”
