Phelps, N.Y. --- Kurt VanCamp, 19, of Phelps died after his car hit a tree just after 3 a.m. Monday.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, he was driving north on Route 488, when his car careened off the road, hit a tree and rolled several times.
VanCamp was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ontario County Coroner.
Ontario County Undersheriff David Tillman tells 13WHAM News that the Accident Investigation Team is continuing to look at all possible causes for this crash. He said there was no evidence of braking at the crash scene. He added that at this time there are no obvious signs that would point to phone use, alcohol, or driver exhaustion as specific factors.
VanCamp, who lives on Fisher Road in Phelps, was wearing a seat belt.
