LariaX - having gone through the process here is what happens in Jury selection: potential jurors receive a notice in the mail and assigned a number. Every day you call a certain number to see if your number has been selected. This goes on until they have selected all numbers that will be needed (enough people for the jury plus some). If your number was not called you are done. If it was you have to go down to the court house and the next process is jury briefing (or the judge talks to the jurors). All jurors are asked if they can remain unbiased towards the case. If you raise your hand and say "I can't" you better have a good reason why not. That in a nut shell is how its done. If your reason is good enough then you are dismissed otherwise you sit. And all community citizens are considered peers. You, me, joe schmo next door. Does that answer your question?

What is truly sad in this case is....The police work tirelessly to rid the streets of animals like this boy...and shortly after an arrest...the animals are released once again...I use the term animal..however, we are harder on the animals in the system...If they are not able to be placed back in the community they are put to sleep....something to be said for that?

This P.O.S kid is a waste of,time,money,human emotion.. Any ideas? What do we do with human waste? Send him to Saudi Arabia for trial? It wouldn't be a quick and pleasant demise..

Yeah sometimes I wish for a little Western justice and get things over with quickly. Does anyone know why this kid shot Officer DiPonzio? and does anyone know how the officer is doing? I know he was talking a couple days ago and reports look good, but I was wondering what kind of rehab he's going to be facing eventually.

Indictment is when they find true cause to make the charge. Arraignment is when the criminal is read the formal charge. Good question why they have to wait. I suppose its all due to the "formal" process called justice that it churns so slow. And yes he will get a trial by jury which probably won't happen anytime soon. They like to wait awhile until people forget or have time to cool down so they can get a good jury selection.

I'm am not familiar with all the legal terms. So what does indicted mean? And the next week he will be arraigned? Does that mean sentenced and this is done? Or does he get a trial with a jury? Why didn't they indict and arraign at the same time? Why do you have to wait?

And how sad his parents have not even come forward , and made a apology to the victims family, I guess the apple dont fall far from the tree. Another trial wasting tax payers dollars. Keep on working america. so we can support the justice system
