New Jersey - The Rascals are back.

For the first time in more than 40 years, the four original members of the band will play their first public shows. Rochester native Gene Cornish will play with Felix Cavaliere, Eddie Brigati and Dino Danelli. Those first shows will be in New Jersey in December.

The members of The Rascals have played concerts separately over the years and different members have used variations of the name “The Rascals,” but the concerts in December are being billed as the first true reunion of the original members.

The band’s hits include “Groovin’,” “It’s A Beautiful Morning” and “Good Lovin’.” They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

Gene Cornish was inducted into the Rochester Music Hall of Fame earlier this year. Bandmate Felix Cavaliere attended the ceremony.
