Rochester, N.Y. -- Holiday travelers drove into the weekend with gas prices on the decline.
AAA reports that gas prices are down about $0.16 from a year ago, and $0.28 from this year's peak.
It's not all good news though. Gas prices are still the third highest on record for a Memorial Day weekend, just behind 2011 and 2008.
The national average for a gallon of regular gas is about $3.65. Rochester drivers are paying about $3.82.
