Lake George, N.Y. (AP) — The Americade motorcycle rally at Lake George is kicking into high gear and motorists are being cautioned to be alert for bikers on the Thruway.
Americade is marking its 30th anniversary and is billed as the world's largest touring rally. It draws about 50,000 people to the Adirondacks, many of them using the I-87 corridor in the days leading up to events that peak over the weekend.
The Thruway Authority has safety warnings running on electronic message boards urging drivers to be alert for motorcycles.
