NEW YORK (AP) - Time Warner Cable has agreed to carry NFL Network.
The official announcement came Friday afternoon by the league and the media company.
The nation's fourth-largest pay TV signal provider, with about 12 million homes, had been the lone holdout among the top nine after Cablevision announced a deal with NFL Network in August.
NFL Network began airing regular-season games in 2006 and expanded from only the second half of each season to a full season this year. The NFL initially feuded with large cable companies over adding the channel but had gradually increased its availability.
NFL.com says that NFL Network and NFL RedZone will debut in Time Warner Cable homes beginning this Sunday September 23, with full launch before Thursday, September 27. Channel numbers will be as follow for those in the Rochester area:
NFL Network – SD 256, HD 1188
NFL RedZone – SD 257, HD 1189
