Two Arrested In Geneseo For Theft

Geneseo, N.Y. – Two Livonia residents have been arrested on several criminal charges Thursday.

Deputies said Shantel Nilsson, 33, and Manuel Gonzalez, 42 were seen at the Geneseo Walmart stealing a shopping cart of items. After the two loaded the items into their vehicle, deputies said they were immediately signaled to pull over.

Deputies said Gonzalez then stopped driving and moved to the passenger seat, while Nilsson switched to the driver's seat as the vehicle was still moving. Sheriff’s deputies were able to stop the car.

In a search, deputies said they found hundreds of dollars with of stolen items from Walmart and a small amounts of heroin and cocaine.

Deputies also determined that Gonzalez had a revoked license that was suspended 19 times. State law punishes drivers with ten or more suspensions in ten or more different incidents with a felony. He was charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation, and petit larceny for the theft at the store. He is being held at Livingston County Jail without bail.

Nilsson was charged with petit larceny, criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. She is being held at Livingston County Jail on $2,500 bond.
