Rochester, N.Y. - Two people were hurt late Friday night when a car crashed into a store on North Winton Road.

Rochester Police report the driver of a BMW was speeding on East Main Street, and failed to negotiate a turn at the intersection of East Main Street and North Winton Road around 11:30 p.m. The driver crashed through the front of Epicurean Treasures.

Police officers arrived quickly to help a man and woman out of the BMW, just before the car and store caught fire. Officers also helped a man and woman who live in a home behind the store leave their house.

Both victims rescued from the vehicle were taken to Rochester General Hospital, and are expected to survive.

Two police officers who helped in the rescue were evaluated by doctors for smoke inhalation.

Police said the crash remains under investigation.
