(Rochester, N.Y.)-The teenager accused of shooting Rochester Police Officer Anthony DiPonzio last weekend was back in court Friday morning, where his case was waived to a grand jury.
Tyquan Rivera, 14, was in court for a preliminary hearing, but a judge waived it because the case was presented to a grand jury.
Rivera was indicted on at least one felony count, District Attorney Mike Green says. Nothing more about the charges can be revealed until late next week, when the grand jury rises.
Rivera pleaded not guilty to charges on Wednesday. If he’s convicted, he could be sentenced to a maximum of 10 years in prison.
