I do not believe this poor child shot that officer. someone had to force him and put him up to saying that he did it. The Da did not have enough evidence to prove that Tyquan did the shooting. They needed some one to be responsible for the shooting and they pinned it on that poor little boy. He is a pond. as for the jurk who said he is going to learn how to kill. Go kill yourself!

To lay the "seeing dreads while wearing a ski-mask" debate to rest...the dreads could stick out of the bottom of the ski mask. Another issue (and feel free to correct me on this) why is there no mention of a wittness actually "seeing" this punk shoot the officer? I could have missed it so again, feel free to correct me on this.

Well, most folks are happy with sending this kid into prison so he'll aquire more skill to kill somone by the time he gets out. Yea, he'll get the a$$ whooping he needs, but everything else will be skills learned to harm somone. So the whooping will be meaningless.

I am truly appalled by the hostility of most of these blogs. Yes, the crime Rivera committed was dispicable, however, why are we forgetting he was just 14 at the time the crime was committed. He,s still a child who does need help. I honestly do not believe prison is the place for him. He needs serious rehabilitation, and he most certainly won't get it there. After reading these blogs I am nothing but disgusted. Not one, but two lives have been destroyed. I still cannot believe what I've been reading.

Hey Henry why not God Bless Tyquan and Anthony they both need it for far different reasons. Lets look at Tyquan Where was his mother on this sobering day?? Why were there what seemed to be three kids around the same age alone in that house! It was a known fact in the neighborhood that Tyquan was an out of control child that terrorized the neighborhood on a regular basis. Now lets look at Officer DiPonzio a young 23 year old police officer with a career and a life ahead of him, trying to do the right thing by the community that did not really want him there to begin with. God Bless Anthony and the job that he and his fellow officers do everyday. But we should all pray to god to turn the Tyquan's in this world around if nothing else but to make the world and all of the officers jobs a little safer. Tyquan will get his with out hanging him

Just my thought on this. If someone actually gave him the gun why didn’t he turn it over to the police? There would have been footprints in the snow so that they could have followed this “ski masked dreadlock” guy. Maybe he was scared but that is still no excuse. Maybe they can try him for obstructing justice if he is not found guilty. I think that they should lock him up in some kind of school and not let him out until he has completed 12 grade.
