Speaking of facts. He was not trying to shoot Anthony. He was shooting at the other cop. I would like to tell our officers to protect themselves and don't go to work. You think it would be so much better that way? Okay!!!!

The sadder thing is, is that our guys in those uniforms risk their lives everyday for an ungrateful POS like you. You should say THANK YOU instead of hating.

No John666, let me tell you a little secret. THE REASON TYQUAN AND HIS FRIENDS ARE THE WAY THEY ARE IS BECAUSE OF PEOPLE IN YOUR OWN COMMUNITY, RAISING THEM TO DISRESPECT AUTHORITY!!!!!!!!!! It can't be about glorifying GANGSTA behavior, and idols such as 2pac, Biggiesmalls, llcoolj, songs like cop killer, and here come the 50. Do not belittle in your racist hate speech the men in blue who are all ethnicities. Your issue is hate, because instead of being an American you want everyone to cater to you and your needs. Responsibility is a wonderful word that you should look up sometime. Ever hear the phrase you made your bed now lay in it. You are going to tell me that Harvard Professor was mistreated as well, am I correct? Stop blaming and start fixing. Physician Heal Thyself. Give those Kids in your community an example to live by. You keep preaching your hate and you will turn out many more TYQUANS. If you want to blame something look right above your bathroom sink and start bichin away. You and your likes of this hate speech are the ones to blame.

And BlessingU, I do agree those were "tears of guilt." Not necessarily because Tyquan is guilty or not guilty, but because the way police officers have treated people and their own violence towards people is what contributed to this incident. It doesn't matter who the shooter was; the person did not grow this hate for law enforcement for no reason at all. And please do not argue that police always act ethically because I can site endless cases when it has been proved that they do not. And I am sure the next response will be “Well it wasn’t Officer Diponzio that has ever been reported for mistreating people.” Well I would imagine that after incidents of misconduct by officers the people have stereotyped police officers. With the many racist comments I see on here I realize that those who made those comments are guilty of stereotyping a group just as police officers have been stereotyped. With this blog the racism towards blacks has been proven and I am sure that many of those officers spew that same racism and that is why this rage has bottled up in our youth. I hope those officers continue to cry those tears of guilt and maybe they will start treating people fairly.

Every police officer that has acted unethically and every judge that has ever banged their gavel with no concern about the lives they are changing have contributed to this hate for law enforcement and the court system. Those police officers and judges that treat people unfairly should feel responsible for the suffering that DiPonzio has endured. And I am not talking about one small incident when a kid was embarrassed in front of his friends. I am talking about the many years of mistreatment by law enforcement that have contributed to the way that this child and many others in the community have grown to hate police officers.

Justice was served. My thoughts are with Officer DiPonzio as he continues his recovery. But will parents, the schools and the community work together to help the at-risk youth in this community? Community programs that do help can't consistently get the funds they need. Schools can only do so much. Parenting skills are needed. Having a child doesn't make you an adult-- financially supporting one and being around to raise that child does. I wish there was a way to explain to the young men in this community that fathering a child doesn't make you a "man"-- being there and supporting that child does. And that young women need to truly consider whether they can raise a child on their own-- can they really depend on the father of their child to be there to help financially support and be involved in that child's life?
