Paris (CNN) – The U.S. is expected to be the world's largest oil producer by around 2020, kicking Saudi Arabia out of the top spot.
And the U.S. will be energy independent 10 years after that, according to a new report from the International Energy Agency.
America's rise to the top is credited to a recent resurgence in oil and gas production, and the fact that newer vehicles are more fuel efficient.
