(13WHAM-TV) - UPS expects its holiday shipments to jump nearly 10% this year compared to last year.

That increase is due in part to more people shopping online.

Last week rival FedEx said it expected to see an increase in its holiday shipments by 13%.

UPS will hire about 55,000 seasonal workers to handle the holiday workload, about the same as last year.
