More federal meat safety tests begin Monday, June 4.

Effective today, the USDA will test for six additional strains of e-coli bacteria.

If meat is found to be contaminated, it will not be allowed to be sold and could be subject to a recall.

The testing originated with a White House initiative aimed at preventing food borne illnesses.
