Albany, N.Y. - New unemployment numbers from the New York State Department of Labor shows unemployment is up from December.

Overall unemployment across the state jumped from 7.9 to 8.2 percent from November to December.

The Rochester area saw a bigger bump -- 7.4 to 8.0 percent in the same time period.

Unemployment in Monroe County was up to 7.7 percent.

Orleans County has the third highest rate of unemployment in the state, at nearly 11 percent.
