The vaccine-resistant germ that could be causing whooping cough is getting some attention as researchers are now seeing it for the first time in the U.S.
It had only been observed in Europe and Asia up to this point.
Now experts plan to see if the vaccine resistant germ helped make 2012 the worst year for whooping cough in 60 years.
