Walworth Man Accused Of Assaulting Police Officers

Geneva, N.Y.- Geneva Police arrested a man from Walworth for allegedly assaulting four police officers Monday morning.

Authorities say after a foot and car chase, Dustin Vernon Gomes, 26, was arrested on Monroe Avenue in Geneva. He’s facing more than a dozen charges including DWI and assaulting a police officer.

Police say Gomes violently fought back and injured four officers. Police say he also attempted to take two of the officers’ duty weapons.
