Warsaw, N.Y.- A 20-year-old man from Warsaw pleaded guilty Tuesday to rape charges.
Scott Marshall pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted rape and two counts of third degree rape.
Authorities say the charges stem from the rapes of three different females under the age of 19 in Warsaw last year. The Wyoming County District Attorney says the three incidents occurred in Warsaw last year and the victims did not know each other.
Marshall is scheduled to receive 5 years in prison on the attempted rape charge and 1 ½ years in prison on each of the third degree rape charges. Those sentences will run concurrently with each other.
In a statement District Attorney Donald O’Geen said, “It became clear from the evidence in this case that Mr. Marshall had a common scheme on how to befriend these young ladies. Even though the young ladies did not know each other there were aspects of their cases that showed a pattern. I commend each of the victims for their courage in coming forward to tell the State Police investigator what had happened. Hopefully this plea will begin the healing process for the young ladies and their families.”
Marshall will be sentenced March 6.
