Rochester, N.Y. - 13WHAM News has confirmed the LPGA and Wegmans have agreed to have Rochester host the LPGA Championship in June 2013.
The agreement comes after months of negotiations. The event will take place in the same time period as last year, in the early part of June from Monday June 3rd until Sunday June 9th. This will mark the fourth year
that the tournament has been played here in Rochester as a major championship, but the 37th consecutive year that the LPGA tour has been at Locust Hill.
As 13WHAM Sports reported first in October, the long negotiations between Wegmans and the LPGA tour were down to the final details over the past few weeks and all indications were that the tournament would return. More details are expected to be released Tuesday afternoon.
