W. Webster, N.Y. - Six firefighters from the West Webster Department were honored for responding to a deadly fire on Cardile Drive in December.
They were recognized by the Webster Fairport Elks Club on Thursday night.
First Assistant Chief Mark Bartlett said, "For being a young crew, they did a phenomenal job. They were all on one truck, and as they were responding they talked about what they were going to do. Very, very professional."
Firefighter John Jones, who volunteers with the Webster Fire Dept., recently rescued a teen from icy Lake Ontario. He was also honored. The youth had fallen down a 100-foot embankment.
