North Rose, N.Y. - A local pup is looking to be "top dog" at the annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show this week.

"Scout," a Cardigan Welsh Corgi and his owner Terri Clingerman from North Rose, Wayne County are competing for the "Best In Breed" award Monday night.

If he wins, "Scout" will then go on to compete in the Best In Show category tomorrow night.

Competition will be tough, though. There are more than 2,700 entries in the entire competition this year, the most ever in the show's 137-year history.
