Scottsville, N.Y. – The Wheatland-Chili School District has said its buildings need upgrades, and voters agreed.

Tuesday night, voters passed Proposition 1 (Repairs and Renovations), by a vote of 528 to 310 to ensure the school district gets the repairs it needs.

The total cost is $5.91 million in repairs to T.J. Connor Elementary School, Wheatland-Chili High and Middle School as well as the bus garage.

Voters also defeated Proposition 2, which would installed a $1.8 million artificial turf field within the district.

A total of 238 voted for Proposition 2, while 598 voters voted against the potential athletic field.
