Victor, N.Y.-- 6-year-old Pierre is finally holding down food. The French bulldog is still underweight but his condition is improving. He is being cared for at Lollypop Farm.
Pierre was abandoned in a Monroe Avenue pet store over a week ago. He was severely malnourished.
The Humane Society is reviewing surveillance video outside of the store and interviewing witnesses to determine who abandoned the dog.
Whoever it is, they will face abandonment charges.
The owner of the dog relinquished custody of Pierre to the Humane Society but says he lost the dog back in October and isn't the one who left the dog in a bag in the pet store.
The investigation continues. Meanwhile, once he is better Pierre will be returned to GRASP, the Greece animal rescue group that cared for him after he was dumped in the pet store.
GRASP has received hundreds of applications from people wanting to adopt Pierre. He will be available to a good home once he is better and the investigation is finished.
