LeRoy, N.Y. - New air testing could begin this week at LeRoy High School.
Leader Professional Services in Pittsford will test the air quality inside and outside the school.
The testing will happen while students are in class and when the school is closed.
Air monitors will be put in classrooms and other common areas, sampling air over 24-hour periods.
Leader Professional Services will test for 61 compounds including trichloroethylene, formaldehyde, methane, and mercury.
Superintendent Kim Cox announced the new round of testing on February 4 at a community meeting.
"They need testing and more testing, leave no stone unturned as far as I'm concerned," said retired LeRoy High School teacher Steve Kindred. "There's a limit I know; a lot of the parents there are getting upset and reasonably so because there haven't been answers yet. They want answers yesterday."
Results should be known in about two weeks.
Prior air quality tests showed no environmental link to tics in more than a dozen high school girls.
The state health department also is looking into six more suspected cases.
Soil will also be sampled.
A local doctor diagnosed the girls with conversion disorder.
But some parents got a second doctor from downstate to test their daughters for a second opinion.
Dr. Rosario Trifiletti said some of the girls showed evidence of a strep infection and walking pneumonia infection.
