Rochester, N.Y. – Green Party candidate Alex White announced Monday that he will run for mayor.
At the announcement, White claimed Rochester is threatened by crime, low graduation rates, and thousands of vacant houses.
"After decades of struggle we need new solutions that work. It's time to start building a true citizen based government that can implement real sustainable solutions,” said White.
White ran in the special election for mayor in 2011 on the Green Party ticket. He won nine-percent of the vote.
Last week, Mayor Tom Richards announced he will seek a full term in the November election.
