Webster, N.Y. – The Monroe County Sheriff's Office say they arrested Barbara Cotie Saturday night after she robbed Pizza Hut in Penfield and fled from the scene.
Hours before, Webster police say they responded to an attempted armed robbery at Kittleberger Florist around 5:30 p.m. Kittelberger Florist is on North Avenue in Webster, about a mile from the Mark's Pizzeria that had been robbed just days before.
Witnesses told police that the woman who attempted the armed robbery at Kittelberger Florist, then fled the scene, matched the description of the woman who robbed Mark’s Pizzeria earlier in the week.
Police later responded to an armed robbery at the Pizza Hut on Empire Boulevard in Penfield around 10:50 p.m. Saturday.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says Cotie entered Pizza Hut and demanded money from a male victim while aiming a pistol grip shotgun at him. The victim gave Cotie a small amount of cash, then fled to a nearby Applebees to call 911, according to police.
Webster Police Sgt. Carl Adriaansen observed a KIA Sportage with a motorist matching the description of the robbery suspect on Ridge Rd. in Webster soon after they responded to the armed robbery at Pizza Hut, according to police.
Police say the suspect was stopped and the driver, Barbara Cotie, was taken into custody.
Webster Police determined the suspect was involved in the attempted robbery at Kittelberger Florist along with the two armed robberies at Mark’s Pizzeria and Pizza Hut.
Cotie was arraigned in Penfield and charged with Robbery in the first degree. She was remanded to Monroe County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
Webster Police are continuing their investigation.
