Henrietta, N.Y. – Students have barely started summer vacation and it’s already “back to school” time.
Stores are getting a head start by offering end of summer discounts in July, some as much as 40 or 50 percent.
While it may be tough for parents and students to already look ahead to the classroom, some shoppers say they’ll take the deals whenever they can get them. “Families always need whatever advantage they can, and when you’ve got your budget set up for so many things for school, a family can really budget for everything else they need for the summer,” Samme Palermo said.
Many stores are offering the early discounts to make up for last sales during the spring.
