Batavia, N.Y. - Batavia Downs is celebrating the grand opening of an expanded smoking area and game room.
The new room, located at the rear of the facility, features 40 brand new slot machines.
President and CEO of Batavia Downs, Michael Kane says, "We found the machines in the smoking room seems to attract more play and give people a different opportunity they may not have elsewhere."
The Downs could see more renovations in the future.
It is making "shovel-ready" plans for a full scale casino and conference center - if the state approves casino gambling.
