Canandaigua, N.Y. – The Canandaigua City School District Board of Education appointed Lynne Erdle to interim superintendent of schools Thursday afternoon. The vote was unanimous.

Erdle has been the assistant superintendent for instruction in the district since January 2011. Her appointment as interim superintendent becomes effective on September 1st.

Erdle will oversee school operations and assist the Board of Education in managing the process to select a long-term Superintendent.

“With Lynne established as Interim, we are well-positioned to be patient and conduct a search process for a new permanent superintendent that fully engages all our stakeholder groups,” says Board of Education President Jeanie Grimm.

Erdle has been with the Canandaigua City School District for 35 years.
