Canandaigua, N.Y. – A Canandaigua man is accused of threatening his wife with a sledgehammer while their children were watching.

Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies say Ronald Gable, 41, was drunk when he got into an argument with his wife Saturday night. Gable then smashed a radio with a sledgehammer before going into the house and raising it to his wife in a threatening way.

Deputies arrested Gable without incident when they arrived at the home. He is charged with second-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child.

Gable was taken to Ontario County Jail where he is being held without bail.
