Rochester, N.Y. – Children came to the Central Library on Saturday to read stories to dogs.

Children participate in the program once every month during the school year.

Miranda Hazen, the librarian at the Central Library Children’s Center says this is a good program for children because it is, “less threatening to be reading to a dog, plus it’s fun to pet the dogs and meet them, and read to them, and it helps them build their confidence.”

The dogs for the program are brought in voluntarily and Hazen says all of the dogs like to sit and be read to.
