Webster, N.Y. – People from local churches gathered on Sunday to fill 150 Christmas stockings to distribute to children in need during the holiday season.
Members from the congregation collected toothbrushes, toothpaste, toys, games, stuffed animals and other goods for stuffing the stockings.
Pastor Johanna Johnson explained how the stockings were separated into categories based on ages of children that would be getting the distributions of stockings.
Church members also knitted 150 hats, scarves and gloves to fill up the stockings.
Pastor Johnson said this event is “A really great opportunity for us to get ourselves and think about other people.”
This is the first time the churches have done an event like this.
