Rochester, N.Y.- Are you looking for something to do this New Year’s Eve with your family? The City of Rochester is hosting a free, family-friendly bash.
The New Year's Eve Celebration will be from 7 to 10 p.m., on Monday, December 31 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.
The evening kicks-off with a "DJ Dance Party" for the whole family featuring Jimmy C's Music Machine. Kid-friendly inflatable attractions including a giant bounce house, a climbing wall, an obstacle course, bungee run and a giant slide will be set up inside the Convention Center.
The City's "Recreation on the Move" program will be providing crafts and games and visitors can get their picture taken in a photo booth. There will also be caricature artists, airbrush tattoo artists, a stilt walker, clowns and a magician.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Just before 10 p.m., Rochester Mayor Tom Richards will welcome the crowd outside the Convention Center front doors for a fireworks display.
The Main Street Bridge provides one of the best viewing spot for the fireworks.
At the Manhattan Square Park Ice Rink, free skating sessions will be hosted with music. Families can skate from 6 to 8 p.m., and adults can skate from 9 to 11 p.m.
The City will offer free parking from 6 to 11 p.m. at the South Avenue Parking Garage (39 Stone St.), at Washington Square (111 Woodbury Ave.), Court Street (194 Court St.), and the Sister Cities (28 N. Fitzhugh St.) garages.
