Rochester, N.Y. --- Court documents attached to the indictment charging Clayton Scott Whittemore with 2nd Degree Murder include statements Whittemore reportedly made to a Monroe County Sheriff's Office Jail Deputy.

"I killed my girlfriend," the deputy reports hearing Whittemore say while explaining that he wanted to clear his mind.

Once they arrived to the dorm room he stated that they began to argue about "stupid stuff." I kept hitting her over and over with my fists" He then told me that he was trying to kill her.
Inmate Whittemore then stated "her breathing sounded bad, like there was blood or something blocking her breathing. "I didn't want the girl I loved to suffer so I started beating her with a curling iron until the noise stopped."
Inmate Whittemore stated that he knew she was dead when he left the dorm room. Inmate also stated, "I wasn't even drunk, I just snapped."
