Clyde, N.Y. - A Clyde woman is accused of stealing more than $3,000 from a bank, but not in the way you might think.

According to State Police, 40-year old Linda Swarthout stole $3,400 from the Lyons National Bank in Lyons on Tuesday. Police say Swarthout noticed the bank teller made an error on her account, which resulted in her getting an extra $3,400. But instead of speaking up, police say she waited a few days until nobody noticed the mistake and went to a bank she normally doesn't go to.

That's where she withdrew the extra money. Police caught her after she went out and bought a car.

Swarthout was arrested for Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree. She's scheduled to be in court Wednesday.
