Rochester, N.Y. - Monroe County officials kicked off the 9th Annual Coats for Seniors program on Wednesday.
The program collects winter coats throughout the community and distributes them to seniors in need.
"The continual generosity of this community to support area seniors embodies the very spirit of giving Monroe County residents are known for," says County Executive Maggie Brooks.
The program runs until December 31, 2012. Donations are accepted weekdays between 10 a.m. to 12 p.m at participating senior centers. Donation boxes will also be set up in the atrium of the Monroe County Office Building, located downtown at 39 West Main Street; The Monroe County Office for the Aging at Monroe Community Hospital, located at 435 East Henrietta Road; and Colony Dry Cleaners, located at 695 Howard Road in Gates.
