East Rochester, N.Y. - One person is dead following a crash in East Rochester around 8 a.m. Friday.

Sheriff deputies say the driver, Donald Love of Hilton, was driving his pickup truck northbound in the southbound lanes of Washington Street when he drove through a red light at the intersection of Linden Avenue.

Deputies say Love then clipped the front end of a car that was turning south onto Washington Street and then struck a SUV that was westbound on Linden Avenue.

The driver of the westbound SUV, 53 year old John P. Marcaitis of Fairport was taken to Strong Hospital where he died.

Deputies say it appears Love may have been traveling at a high rate of speed and charges are pending.
