West Bloomfield, N.Y. – Three people are recovering following a crash on Route 5 in Ontario County Friday afternoon.
Ontario County Sheriffs said that Robert Devore, 26, of Caledonia was traveling west on State Route 5 when he lost control of his vehicle, causing him to cross the center line. Sheriff’s officials said Devore’s vehicle struck a car in the oncoming lane, driven by Leila Headlee, 23, of Bloomfield.
State Route 5 was shut down for nearly three hours following the crash while deputies conducted an investigation.
Devore sustained chest injuries, while Headlee received head and back injuries. A passenger in Devore’s vehicle, Jennifer Crawford, 32, of Caledonia, suffered serious internal injuries.
All three individuals were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. Devore and Crawford are listed in guarded condition, while Headlee is listed in satisfactory condition.
Devore was issued a traffic citation for unsafe speed and failure to keep right.
