Rochester, N.Y. - Police are investigating a crash on Mt. Hope Avenue that sliced a car in two pieces.
The car was driving north on Mt. Hope around 3:30 a.m. when it hit a curb, flipped over and slammed into a tree.
Police say the impact split the car in two. The two sections ended up about 25 feet apart.
The 22-year-old driver and 21-year-old passenger were taken to Strong Hospital.
Driver Anthony Jenkins told 13WHAM that he thought he saw a small animal in the road so he swerved the car.
Officers say alcohol was not a factor.
