A sweet relief for some people at high-risk of heart attack or stroke.

A new study says 100 grams of dark chocolate every day for people with metabolic syndrome could be the most cost effective way to fight cardiovascular disease.

Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of symptoms that increases the risk of heart disease and diabetes.

Researchers say following the 100 gram model fully could prevent close to 100 “cardiovascular events” per 10,000 people over 10 years.

Previous studies have shown dark chocolate decreases blood pressure and increases insulin in healthy people.
