Lima, N.Y. -- Police arrested a Honeoye Falls man after a deadly hit and run accident Sunday morning.
Livingston County Sheriff's Deputies say a caller reported seeing a man lying in a ditch in Lima around 8:30 a.m.
Police say the victim, identified as 51-year-old William Ehrmentraut of Lima, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Around 12:30 p.m., police got a call from 27-year-old Michael Manley, who said he had hit a deer earlier that day. Police later determined he had hit Ehrmentraut.
Sheriff York said Manley was driving home from a friend's house around 1:30 Sunday morning, when the hit and run crash likely happened.
Manley's driver's license was suspended in 2008 for failing to pay a fine in Henrietta and failing to appear in Lima court for a traffic violation.
He is now charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and leaving the scene of a fatal accident. He's being held in the Livingston County Jail on $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.
