Perinton, N.Y. - Monroe County Sheriff's deputies shot and killed what police call an aggressive dog in Perinton late Friday night.

The incident happened when deputies responded to a house party on Whitney Rd. around 11:30 p.m. As they were walking up the driveway towards the house, a loose pit bull approached the deputies.

The dog was shot and killed as it charged towards them.

The Sheriff’s Office says the deputies were justified in shooting the dog.
