Rochester, N.Y. - A section of 490 East was closed after a dump truck crashed into the Culver Road Bridge Friday morning.
The driver, Jerrell Heath, 40, from Rochester says a car swerved in front of him, the fire extinguisher became loose in the cab of the truck and hit the hydraulic switch, which caused the bed of the truck to rise.
The truck's bed became wedged under the bridge. Emergency crews removed it and the truck was hauled to the side of the road.
The right lane of 490 East was closed between Culver Road and Winton Road South. It has since re-opened.
The Rochester Fire Department is on scene cleaning hydraulic fluid that is in the roadway.
New York State DOT engineers will be inspecting the bridge structure to make sure the bridge is safe.
