Rochester, N.Y. - A bike accident turned into a knife fight Thursday afternoon on Eastman Avenue.
A pickup truck and bicycle collided around 12:30 p.m.
When police officers arrived at the scene, they found out they were dealing with something more serious than a bicycle crash.
They found the pickup driver was bleeding from a knife wound.
Jim Maroulis of Rochester said he was driving when a bicycle hit the back of his truck.
Maroulis said he got out of his truck to check on the bicycle rider.
He said the two exchanged a few words, the bicyclist pulled out a box cutter, and sliced open his hand.
"He did it so quickly I didn't even know he did it," Maroulis said.
He said the bike rider then grabbed a piece of wood with nails in it from the back of his truck and tried to hit him.
Maroulis said someone in the area saw the two men fighting, intervened, and saved him from being hit with the wood plank.
The bike rider ran off.
But police were able to arrest him soon after.
Officers said the bike rider had outstanding warrants and they arrested him.
