Mother And Daughter Among Eight Arrested In Drug Bust

Williamson, N.Y. – Police say eight individuals were arrested when police obtained a search warrant and discovered individuals weighing about 40 grams of crack cocaine at a residence in Wayne County Saturday afternoon.

A mother, Tracy L. Rendsland, 46, and her daughter Ava P. McGinnis, 17, rented the apartment in Williamson that police were conducting an investigation at, according to the police.

Rendsland and McGinnis were arrested, along with six other individuals who were at the residence at the time of the search, according to police.

Police say the six other individuals arrested were Alchimist “Al”McKinnon, 21, Durville D. Peterson, 19, Akeem V. Simon, 18, Jawuan T. Thomas, 20, Jamaal E. Moody, 21, and Shameika Brown, 20. 

All eight were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony, according to police.

All eight people were arraigned in the Town of Williamson Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail pending the posting of bail or their next court appearance. 

Police are continuing their investigation and expect to add charges in the near future.
