Rochester, N.Y. - Customers at ESL Federal Credit Union will receive new debit and credit cards because of a security breach.
The credit union posted on its website July 1 that it was notified of a security breach involving some Visa Debit and Credit Cards.
Some cardholder information may have been compromised.
ESL suspended purchase transactions with the debit cards that were breached by an outside person.
You can still use them to withdraw money from an ATM.
ESL is issuing new debit cards, which should arrive before mid-July.
The credit union also issued new credit cards, which should be sent by July 11.
Your old card will be blocked on July 15.
If you have experienced any fraudulent activity on your account, you will need to complete a Fraud Affidavit at your local branch.
Once ESL receives the appropriate documentation, ESL will investigate the fraudulent activity and credit your account within 1-2 business days.
