One Dead in Wayne County Crash

Macedon, N.Y. - A man is dead and a woman was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries after a crash on Route 31.

It happened around 10:00 p.m. Thursday night near Yellow Mills Road.

Police said that Paul Anderson, 62, was traveling eastbound when he was struck head-on by a vehicle traveling westbound, driven by Linda Lucas, 66.

Anderson was pronounced dead when emergency crews arrived.

Speed, drugs, and alcohol are not believed to have played a role in the crash.

A long stretch of road was closed for several hours following the crash.
