Rochester, N.Y. - The family of the woman killed in an early morning house fire is looking for answers.

Family members identify the victim as 38-year-old Chandra Majors.

Family and friends prayed for Majors during a vigil in front of her home where she died.

“Lord we're asking you to touch our hearts,” said John Majors as he prayed with dozens of people at the vigil, “because our hearts are heavy.”

“She liked to laugh and crack jokes,” said Deborah Bruce, Major’s mother. Bruce says her daughter raised seven children and loved each one unconditionally.

One of Majors’ daughters Alexis Majors sat on her grandmother’s couch distraught over the loss of her mom.

“Just cherish, cherish your mother because you don't know if she'll be gone the next day,” said Alexis Majors.

Around 2:30 Sunday morning firefighters arrived to heavy smoke and flames at 234 Pierpont Street in Rochester. Majors' body was found on the second floor.

Investigators have not determined what the caused the fire and have not called it arson.

ATF and the Rochester Police Department are helping with the case. We're told this is common procedure for fatal fires.
