Rochester, N.Y. – A portion of Lake Avenue closed during a structure fire in Rochester has reopened.
The blaze, which began around 1:30 p.m. Sunday at 1118 Lake Ave., shut down traffic in the area near Augustine Street for a short period.
Firefighters on scene said that the first and second floors of the residence were significantly damaged during the blaze.
Five residents live in the affected apartment. They were not home at the time of the blaze, and are being provided aid by the Red Cross.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
